Women’s Voices Chorus is proud to present Welcome Home, a benefit concert in support of Church World Service-Durham. The concert will be presented on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Judea Reform Congregation, located at 1933 W. Cornwallis Rd., Durham.

CWS-Durham welcomes refugees and immigrants from around the world into lives of freedom, hope, and opportunity in the Triangle area, connecting new arrivals with resources and social services to meet immediate needs and foster long-term self-sufficiency. While admission to the concert is free, cash or check donations are welcome and will go entirely to CWS-Durham; $10 per person is suggested.

CWS-Durham staff will be on hand to speak about their work and answer your questions. Come learn more about this incredible organization, and enjoy an inspiring and beautiful concert directed by Allan Friedman and accompanied by Deborah Hollis.

WVC will sing Welcome Home fresh off a choral tour of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The one-hour program will feature music from the Baltic States and the United States, with themes of crossing borders, bridging our differences, and the struggle to be free. Due to WVC’s choral tour, there will be no Summer Community Chorus this year; it will resume in 2018.
