Paid Opportunity: Co-Artistic Director Needed for the Triangle Gay Men’s Chorus
The Triangle Gay Men’s Chorus (TGMC) is seeking a dedicated, dynamic and knowledgeable Artistic Director to share conducting and accompanist duties with an existing artistic director for the 2019 – 2020 concert season. We are looking for someone with impressive technical skill, excellent reading ability and a good amount of experience providing piano accompaniment. He/she should be adept at a variety of musical styles including musical theater, modern pop, traditional classical and jazz.
This position is collaborative in nature, so an ideal candidate should be able to work well with singers (both professional and amateur), instrumentalists and his/her direct counterpart to achieve a high-quality musical product.
Duties of the TGMC Co-Artistic Director include:
– Attending regular TGMC rehearsals in Raleigh, N.C. on Tuesdays, 7:30 to 9:45 PM
– Attending technical/dress rehearsals, concerts and performances
– Conducting the chorus during rehearsals and performances
– Playing choral parts and accompaniment during rehearsals
– Helping select and maintain a repertoire from which programs can be assembled
– Providing constructive feedback and instruction on proper vocal technique
– Accompanying sectional rehearsals when available
The Co-Artistic Director will be employed as an independent contractor and compensated monthly. His/her contract will run from October 2019 – July 2020.
TGMC is a nonprofit choral organization based in Raleigh, N.C. that seeks to offer quality men’s choral music that is both entertaining and thought provoking. Its mission is to provide a venue for gay and gay-affirming individuals to develop their interest and display their musical talents in a professional manner. The chorus also strives to strengthen the spirit and open presence of the LGBTQ+ community as well as offer the public at-large a positive image of said community. The Co-Artistic Director would be a vital artistic part of achieving said mission and goals.

Paid Opportunity: SSATB Needed for NC Museum of Art Unveiling
The NC Museum of Art is presenting a concert of excerpts from Handel’s oratorio, Saul, in conjunction with a lecture and unveiling celebrating the acquisition of a sculpture of King Saul. The Museum needs two sopranos, alto, tenor and bass who can sing one short and one major Handel chorus, one on a part with one (at most two) rehearsals. The performance is on December 8, 2019. Woods Charter School Music Teacher (Interim)
Woods Charter School seeks a dedicated and dynamic educator to lead its K-12 music program. Through mainly choral music instruction, our program aims to instill and nurture a love of music in our students and provide them with a firm understanding of music theory and musical notation.

This is a Full-Time Interim teaching position, lasting through mid-December at the least (and mid-June at the most). Work hours are 8:00 – 3:30 Monday through Friday, with a slightly longer day on Tuesday (4:30 p.m.), when faculty meetings are scheduled. Compensation is negotiable.
