The Furman University Singers, under the direction of Hugh Ferguson Floyd and accompanied by organist Kevin Edens, and Furman University Organist Charles Tompkins are coming to Binkley Church in Chapel Hill as part of their spring 2017 tour on Wednesday, March 8 at 7 pm. Dinner will precede the concert in the Binkley Fellowship Hall at 6:00 pm. Repertoire will include music of Felix Mendelssohn, S.S. Wesley, James Macmillan, and Stephen Paulus.

The Furman Singers are recognized as one of America’s premier collegiate choirs, touring annually throughout the Southeastern United States, performing for churches and schools and other public functions. Over its seventy-year history, the Furman Singers has achieved a national and international reputation for choral excellence. During the school year, they present concerts and performances on campus, including two major performances with the Furman Symphony Orchestra.
All undergraduate student singers, the Furman Singers repertoire includes a wide range of choral music and two great choral-orchestral concerts each season. Founded in 1946 by DuPre Rhame, the Singers was conducted by Bingham Vick, Jr. from 1970–2010. Now under the direction of Hugh Ferguson Floyd, the Singers international reputation for discipline, excellence, and beauty continues.
