The Duke University Chapel Choir is seeking experienced altos and tenors for paid section leader positions. Section leaders will be expected to sight-read at a high level, display confident preparation of service and concert music, and have a strong voice which reinforces their section. Section leaders may also be asked to perform occasional solo work. While not required, the ability to lead sectional rehearsals is preferred.

Attendance requirements include Wednesday evening rehearsals from 6:00-7:50pm, Sunday morning rehearsals from 9:15-10:30am, and the 11:00am worship service. The choir also sings at least two concerts each academic year: Handel’s Messiah in December (three performances) and another major work in the spring semester (usually one performance). Additional rehearsals for these and other events will be scheduled in advance, at the discretion of the director.
