Master Chorale holding auditions for spring 2019

The North Carolina Master Chorale, Raleigh’s mixed-voice nonprofit choral music organization, invites singers to audition by appointment in early January 2019. Master Chorale rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings in downtown Raleigh. Candidates should prepare a short classical solo. An accompanist is provided. Alfred E. Sturgis, NCMC Music Director, assesses the auditions.
The spring 2019 season includes Haydn’s The Creation and Rachmaninoff’s Vespers.
The Master Chorale, in its role as Resident Chorus of the North Carolina Symphony, will also sing performances of Orff’s Carmina Burana.

West Side Story Symphony Concert Auditions

Raleigh Little Theatre and the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra will be holding auditions for West Side Story: In Concert on Monday, January 7 and Tuesday, January 8 with callbacks on Sunday, January 13, if necessary.

The production will be conducted and directed by Jim Waddelow, Artistic Director of the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra.

Concert Singers of Cary – Auditions!

The Concert Singers of Cary is holding auditions for singers of all voice parts. In the midst of its 28th season, Concert Singers boasts a 120-voice symphonic choir and a 35-voice Chamber Choir. Rehearsing on Monday evenings at the Cary Arts Center, Concert Singers performs music from across the choral spectrum in a variety of styles, and regularly collaborates with the North Carolina Symphony, the Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle, the North Carolina Baroque Orchestra, and the Mallarme Chamber Players. Highlights of the second half of the 2018-19 season will include “Discovery: Bach’s Awakening – Discover Cantata 140 *Wachet auf*”, “The Great American Songbook”, and “Mendelssohn and Debussy”.

Call for Singers to join Voices

Voices, the Chapel Hill Chorus, is pleased to announce a call for singers to audition for our 2019 Spring season. We have had an incredible fall under the artistic direction of our new conductor Stephen A. Futrell, DMA.  We invite you to join us as we continue to work with this amazing director!

On May 18th, Voices will perform a beautiful program which includes “Fern Hill”, by John Corigliano; “Five Hebrew Love Songs”, by Eric Whitacre; “Reflections from a Mexican Garden”, by Kevin Padworski; and “Make Our Garden Grow”, by Leonard Bernstein. Rehearsals will be held from 7:15-9:15 pm on Tuesdays at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Chapel Hill beginning on January 15th.

VOICES is one of the Triangle’s oldest and most distinguished choral groups with a rich history spanning over three decades.  Now in its 38th season, VOICES has grown from a small group of adult singers that performed with student choruses from Frank Porter Graham Elementary School and Phillips Middle School in 1980 to the thriving 130 member-governed and operated choral group known for its high standard of excellence today.  VOICES performs fall and spring concerts often featuring an orchestra, soloists and other guest performers.

Triangle Jewish Chorale auditions

You don’t have to be Jewish to sing with the Triangle Jewish Chorale! If you are interested in singing Jewish-inspired music in various genres and languages, we are seeking voices to join the chorale (in particular tenors and basses). Our conductor, Dr. Lorena Guillen, will hold auditions for all applicants the evenings of Jan. 15 and 22, 2019. Prospective singers have to commit to attending Tuesday evening rehearsals (6:45 TO 8:45 PM) at the Levin JCC in Durham, and to singing in our Feb. 24 and May 19, 2019 concert.
